Faryad is about a man in a house on fire. He screams and yells for help, and as no help comes, he gives up to the fire. Faryad is based on a poem, Faryad, by Mehdi Akhavan Sales (1929-1990) which is a metaphor of the sociopolitical situation of Iran in the early 20th century. In this piece, the instrumentalists should stand around the vocalist, representing the fire surrounding the man.
