WUORNOS is an English language opera in two acts chronicling the tragic life of “America’s First Female Serial Killer”, Aileen Wuornos. A victim of severe childhood abuse and neglect, Wuornos was tried by the media after confessing to the murders of seven men to save her lover’s life. Premiered in 2001 at Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco.
